Monico Matteo began studying piano at the Franchino Gaffurio Academy in Lodi. In 2014 he joined Maestro Alessandro Commellato’s class at the I.S.S.M. “Conservatorio Guido Cantelli di Novara”.He has performed masterclasses with: Jefrey Swann, Piotr Szychowsky, Roberto Prosseda, Jose’ Maria Curbelo Gonzalez, Edoardo Torbianelli, Simone Pedroni, Cristiano Burato, Stefano Battaglia, Davide Cabassi, and with French composer Benoit Menut.He has performed at the Auditorium of the Conservatorio “Guido Cantelli” in Novara, at the Piano City Milano Festival, in Sala Puccini and at the Museo del Novecento for SIMC “Società Italiana Musica Contemporanea”. He performed the Italian premiere of Andrea Mannucci’s opera “Kiki de Montparnasse,” libretto by Marco Longaro. He played with the “Ensemble Cantelli” of the Novara Conservatory in the season of the Bonci Theater in Cesena. He performed at the Cineteca di Milano, at the Lodi al Sole Festival, in Massa Marittima in collaboration with L”Accademia delle Belle Arti di Brera” and at the Arsenale Cinema in Pisa in collaboration with the “Scuola Normale Superiore.” He studied composition with maestro Franco Balliana at the Novara Conservatory, also attending a seminar on the practice of basso continuo of the 18th-century Neapolitan school supported by organist and harpsichordist Nicoleta Paraschivescu. He received a first-level academic diploma in piano with highest honors and a second-level academic diploma at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan.
